School-Based Inclusion Services

If your child attends or is transitioning to an inclusive school and needs support to succeed, we are here to help improve the chances of successful inclusion.

What we offer:

Therapy at School

One-on-one or group therapy (speech, occupational, physical, or behavioral) delivered in your child's school environment if your child attends one of our partner schools, with ongoing efforts to expand our network of collaborating schools. Sessions focus on skills that matter in real classroom and social contexts.

Shadow Teacher Support

A specially trained shadow teacher works with your child at school to support peer communication, academic performance, and participation in classroom activities. Our shadow teachers undergo continuous training and supervision to ensure quality support tailored to your child's unique needs.

Teacher Training & Collaboration

We work with your child's school to provide customized teacher training and classroom consultations. Our goal is to help teachers understand your child's strengths and challenges and implement effective support strategies.

Who benefits:

Children already in inclusive schools who require additional assistance, or children moving between settings and needing transition support.

Shadow Teachers

Shadow teachers are trained professionals who support your child in their inclusive classroom, working on peer communication, academic participation, self-confidence, focus, and attention.

What shadow teachers do:

  • Support your child in peer interactions and classroom activities

  • Help your child stay focused and engaged during lessons

  • Assist with academic tasks and transitions between activities

  • Communicate regularly with classroom teachers and parents

  • Implement strategies specific to your child's needs

Training & Supervision:

All shadow teachers hired by Al-Masar receive ongoing training and supervision. We ensure they have the right tools and strategies for your child's individual growth and adapt support as your child's needs change.

Benefits for schools:

Having a trained shadow teacher in the classroom encourages collaborative efforts among teachers, parents, and specialists. It allows daily communication with someone who understands your child's needs and creates more flexible learning experiences that benefit not just your child, but the entire classroom.

Who benefits:

Children in early childhood and primary grades who benefit from one-on-one support to participate successfully in their regular classroom.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Call us at +962-6-533-8278 or email info@almasar.edu.jo to speak with a specialist. You'll be asked about your child's specific concerns, and we'll recommend either a consultation or a comprehensive developmental assessment based on your child's needs.

  • An assessment helps us understand your child's strengths, challenges, and learning style. We gather your child's developmental and medical history, use standardized assessment tools to evaluate cognitive and academic abilities, and observe how your child functions in different contexts. The process typically takes 4 visits, though some assessments (like articulation or handwriting) may be completed in one visit. After assessment, we meet with you to discuss findings and create a personalized therapy or education plan.

  • This depends on your child's needs and goals. Some children benefit from intensive support (multiple sessions per week), while others progress well with weekly sessions. We discuss frequency and intensity with you and adjust as your child makes progress.

  • Yes. Early Intervention services (birth to 5) support your child's development and help them participate in general preschool settings. Many children transition to general education settings with ongoing therapy support as needed. Others may benefit from our School Program. Each child's path is individualized based on progress and needs.

  • Al-Masar provides support through our Inclusion Services. We can provide therapy at your child's school, assign a shadow teacher to support academic and social skills, or both. We also work directly with your child's teachers to ensure consistent support across all settings.

  • Very involved. Parents are integral to your child's progress. We provide regular communication, strategy training so you can support your child at home, and team meetings to discuss progress and adjust goals. We encourage you to observe therapy sessions and learn how to carry over skills in daily life.

  • Yes. Most of our staff are bilingual. Therapy sessions and school instruction can be conducted in either Arabic or English based on your family's preference.

  • If you feel that your child is a good candidate for Al-Masar School Program, get in touch! You will be contacted shortly afterwards and have an appointment scheduled to assess your child’s needs. The purpose of this assessment is to ensure that Al-Masar School Program is the best educational setup to suit your child’s educational needs. If so, then the registration process will begin. Otherwise, you may be advised to seek enrollment in general education settings while receiving the necessary therapy services for your child through Al-Masar, or you may be advised to seek other special education setups in the community.

  • Al-Masar provides transportation for children enrolled in our School Program and Early Intervention Program, subject to availability.

  • Yes. We collaborate with schools to support your child's success. With our partner schools, we conduct assessments at their premises, provide therapy services, train your child's teachers, and assign a shadow teacher if needed.
